Hi everyone,

I hope you'll tune in to 20/20 tonight (10PM EST on ABC) to watch an interview with me—and Dave! (You'll see Ben and Megan, too.) This is the first interview Dave has done since we got married almost 12 years ago. I was actually very surprised that he agreed to do it, but the topic is an important one to us: maintaining a strong and happy marriage. They filmed us at our home, and we share stories about knowing each other as kids, falling in love, and keeping the romance alive, even with two kids and very busy careers.

Please let me know what you think of the show…and please share your tips for working through the rough patches and making a marriage a happy and lasting one!

XO

Ali

I will watch 20/20 tonight

I also wanted to know , WHY haven't they opened that box !! Days sure is dragging it on way too long, It's  like now I don't even care whats in the box, The only reason now I want it opened so they will stop talking about it. I do like Will's gay story line though , The torment he has inside, sad.

Good to see Dave with you. "Real Hollywood Marriage"

Alison,

I was great to see you and Dave on 20/20 tonight. As a wife of a Sheriff's Deputy, I felt that connection with you as you understand and appreciate the sacrifices that us wives have had to make. Thank you for making a great standard in Hollywood and for letting us in on your personal life.

I loved to interview with you and Dave.  It was so refreshing to see the two of you with your children at your home, and talking about your marriage and what makes it work.  Thanks for allowing us to see the wife and mom side of you in addition to Sami and The Biggest Loser emcee.

Ali, the interview with you and Dave and the children was wonderful!!  It is great to watch the interactions of a good marriage and the love of a family.  Ben and Megan are so cute and it is easy to tell they live in an environment of love and caring which is so important for children.  I must say that I don't think the interview told us anything new.  If people follow you, they already know about you and Dave.  Having said that it was good to hear Dave say he is "living the dream."  Thanks for letting us know about the show.  You are the BEST!!

The interview last night was one ofthe best I have seen in a long time... It was seriouse and funny and cute all at the same time...

Hey Ali,

The interview last night was great, you and your husband look great together. Not only just you two but your whole family look like you have a really fun time together and that is great to see. A lot of kids that were in my HighSschool grew up with no parents or parents that werent really parents if you know what i mean and that was hard to see.

In my college communications class we are just starting to talk about relationships and the stages and all that. To me a good marriage is trust, having time to spend together. Not letting work or letting yourself get too busy that you don't have time to go out on a date or something, even if its with the kids go out bowling just having the family together is important, and also having time just with you and your spouce is important. I know i dont have kids yet but i hear that its nice to have time away from them for a night. When i was a senior last yr my high school teacher asked the class one day how many times they had a family supper together, most of the kids said at least 2 nights. That was surperising to me. So ya, a good marriage is having that special someone that you can have fun with, that you can trust, and just live the rest of your life with.

Just seeing you and Dave together last night i do see that with you two and its great to see. And im not just saying this just for the heck of it, im glad seeing the connection not only you two have but also the connection you have with your kids, especially in hollywood. Thanks for letting us know, and im glad that I've been able to watch you with everything you've done, your an insperation and a role model to many of us and i thank for that. Im looking forward to keep watching you and what you do.

Thanks Ali smiley-smile.gif

Hi everyone!

Keep your eye peeled for me as you watch the Super Bowl this Sunday, because I’m going to be on an NBC spot during the broadcast! Each year, one of my favorite parts of the Super Bowl is watching the commercials that air during the game. I’m really excited to be part of one this year!

What are you looking forward to most, the ads or the actual game?

Hi everyone,

The Super Bowl is coming up this weekend, and it can be difficult to find some healthy alternatives for party snacks. Whether you are throwing a party at your house, or taking something to one, I have a great healthy snack that will make everyone happy!

Chickpeas are high in fiber and protein, and this snack is easy to make. It’s a healthy, low-calorie snack mix that won’t hurt your bank account:

Spiced Chickpeas

  • 2 cans chickpeas, drained, rinsed and patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt-free seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Mix the ingredients until the chickpeas are evenly covered with the olive oil and spices. Pre-heat your oven to 425 F, and bake the chickpeas on a cookie sheet for approximately 30 minutes, or until the chickpeas are lightly brown and crunchy.

Are you having a Super Bowl Party this year? Tell me what snacks you plan to have in the comments below.

I’m proud of Adrian and Daphne, the brother and sister of the Aqua team, for losing 50 pounds at home to earn a spot back on the ranch!

Were you surprised by the remaining contestants' reactions to their return?

How BL Got Me Back on Track
Posted by Ali Sweeney on Jan 27, 2012

alison          Pin It

Hi everyone,

Today, I’m sharing an in-depth article about how I got back on track thanks to The Biggest Loser. Before, I had been cutting calories, but they weren’t always the right ones. For example, I learned that a Caesar salad is not a health food. It’s actually one of the highest-calorie salads you can eat!

The show has brought so much inspiration into my own eating habits, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

How has The Biggest Loser changed your diet and exercise habits? Tell me in the comments below.

XO

Dr. Steve Bae, medical director of YB Clinic Los Angeles Acupuncture, is proud to be sponsoring AlisonSweeney.com. He’s brought some wonderful health tips and remedies, as well as information about holistic healing.

TIP FROM DR. BAE: “Eat locally whenever you can. How long a food takes to get from the farm to the table is extremely important. Vital nutrients are lost during a veggie’s journey. More time on the road means less nutrients once it reaches your plate. Eating local, organic foods in conjunction with the holistic healing of acupuncture will increase your energy levels, lower your stress, and make you feel terrific overall.”

Woman Acupuncture

Organic foods work to keep your body healthy from the inside out, while acupuncture and cupping work from the outside in. They can help you lose weight and relieve stress, but are also especially helpful for problems associated with back pain, a condition that plagues so many of us on a daily basis. If you suffer from chronic back pain, you may have wondered if acupuncture and cupping for it is a genuine form of therapy. For people just like you, Beverly Hills back pain acupuncture and holistic healing provider YB Clinic aims to educate the public about the connection between acupuncture and pain management.

Following your series of treatments at their Beverly Hills back pain acupuncture clinic, your arthritic pain should be significantly reduced. Imagine going about your daily routine, without back pain keeping you from the things you love to do.

Check out this testimonial from one of Dr. Bae’s patients:

The YB Clinic also accepts many forms of insurance, so the cost to you could be minimal.

And now Alison Sweeney readers from Los Angeles who “Like” the YB Clinic on Facebook and comment on this post will be entered to win one free cupping therapy and one free liver detox treatment.

The YB Clinic is located in Beverly Hills and Downtown Los Angeles. If you don’t live in Los Angeles, you can “Like” the YB Clinic on Facebook for access to tips and information, or even ask Dr. Bae direct questions about Chinese medicine or specific issues you are having!

To learn more about the YB Clinic, visit their website. Los Angeles residents, be sure to become a fan on Facebook and comment on the post below for your chance to win free treatments!

Contest ends January 31, 2012 at 11:59PM PST.
