Hi everyone,

I mentioned last week that I love Mother's Day and the creative things my husband and kids do for me. Well, you won't believe what Ben did this year! He wanted to "treat" me to a pedicure, so he did it for me himself. It was the cutest thing ever!

What did you mamas out there do to celebrate?

Ali

Happy Mother's Day!
Posted by Ali Sweeney on May 10, 2012

Hi everyone,

You may know by now how much I enjoy holidays and Mother's Day is definitely one of my favorites. I love spending the day with my family, and my husband and Ben and Megan come up with such cute and creative things to do for me. I'm smiling right now just thinking about it!

I had a bit of an early Mother's Day celebration last weekend when I was in D.C. with Dave and Ben. It's a treat for us to get one-on-one time with each of our kids. We took a special tour of the White House together and Ben got to roll on the White House lawn! Ben also took a pledge to become a "junior ranger" and help protect our parks and outdoor spaces. So sweet, and that will be great for him to think about when we take hikes, go to parks, or play at the beach.

How are you celebrating Mother's Day this year? I wish all you moms out there a wonderful, restful, family-filled day!

XO
Ali

Going back to the White House!
Posted by Ali Sweeney on May 4, 2012

Hi everyone,

It was so amazing to bring the Biggest Loser contestants to the White House this past season. This weekend, I'm heading back to the White House for a tour with Dave and Ben!

I'm going to Washington for a wonderful reason. American Mothers invited me to speak at their National Mom to Mom Convention and they are recognizing me as a "mother of excellence," which is an amazing and humbling honor.

Being a good mother and wife is the most important thing in the world to me. Dave and Ben are coming with me on this trip, and Dave and I are so excited to show Ben some of the landmarks in our nation's capital.

What are your recommendations for the best places in Washington, D.C. to go with kids?

XO
Ali

Hey everyone,

This Tuesday was an emotional close to a very dramatic season of The Biggest Loser—what a journey! For everyone, myself included! I share more about the great little moments of the finale and my favorite parts of the season on this week's People.com blog.

What did you think of this season? Which has been your favorite season so far?

Hi everyone,

Did you catch the finale last night? Thanks for your help picking my purple Donna Karan dress. I loved it, especially with the up-do and dangly earrings. By the way, how hot did Bob and Dolvett look in their suits?

All the eliminated contestants made me so proud. They've been working hard and using all they learned at the ranch at home. (The three contestants who quit the show were not included in the weigh-in.)

Cassandra looks incredible! She lost 92 pounds. I love when she talked about trying on a bikini and catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror and loving herself in all her "imperfect glory." So great.

And then Emily, who also looks amazing, beat her out by less than one percentage point! Bob was so proud of her accomplishments. Although Gail didn't come close to winning, she was one of the most emotional of the eliminated contestants. As she said, "I saved my life." That's what the show is about. I also loved when Roy said "I was never going for the money. I was going for health." As I said, he won that. When Mike walked up on the scale, I had a feeling his number was going to be huge—and it was: 160 pounds. Almost 45% of his body weight. Wow. He was the at-home winner by a landslide.

Even though I know them all so well, watching the three finalists' stories was very moving, to me and everyone in the audience. They have come so far. Kim totally recovered her inner athlete. She is smokin'! And she feels like she can do anything now. In fact, she can. She even won a gym for her community thanks to Mrs. Obama's challenge.

I loved seeing Conda's daughter in the audience, and how much Conda wanted to lose weight for her. And wow, she lost 179 pounds. But her brother outdid her. He lost 199 pounds. Oh, my. That was more than 50% of his body weight. Kim had the highest percentage of weight loss on campus this season, and she lost 118 pounds total, but it wasn't quite enough to edge out Jeremy for the cash prize. Of course, as she said, "we both won."

And really, it's true. All the contestants who walked away with healthier lives are the winners. That's why I love this show so much!

What did you think of the finale? Are you inspired to make any healthy changes in your own life?

XO
Ali
