Last Night's Biggest Loser

I actually walked/ran on the treadmill while watching last night. But I wasn't really fond of last nights episode. There is a lot of negativity and cat fighting this season. Even between Bob & Dolvett. I love that Bob is such a positive influence on everyone and his hissy fit over Dolvett "using some of his moves" really disappointed him. And Dolvett wasn't being cocky about the 94 he was reminding his team of what they did to themselves.

I wish I could get my husband to watch.  I am disabled with one side completely paralyzed so hardfor me to exercise but he has no excuse, he is a 54 year old man that acts like 84.  I keep telling him he would feel so much better if he just strted walking like we used to before I got hurt.  We used to walk 2-4 miles everyday even if it was after midnight.  The morning of my accident I was 1 pound from reaching my goal to lose 100 pounds.  He spent almost all 75 days/evenings at the hospital with me and never kept up the walking.  It has been almost 11 years and I see him failing a little more each day.  I love the show andtry to point out t he older contestants and how hard they push themselves but can't get him interested.  His sister gave him a pedometer for Christmas and challened him to walk in a Heart Walk in the Spring with her in memory of their dad.  He wears it all day but doesn't push himself at all.  If you have any tips at all or anyone from the show has tips to get him off his butt I would love to hear them.  Unfortunately I will be more dependent on him every year.  I can bear to  think about life with out him.  The Biggest Loser has saved so many lives, thank you!!

It's all in your point of view.  During many seasons I would sit on my couch, eating my favoite junk foods and enjoy seeing all these people working out........something I just could never do!  Then, last May, came the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes that I knew would be coming eventually.  I had been dreading it for years (I'm a hemodialysis nurse).  I knew better but I just would not cooperate with what my brain told me!

That diagnosis woke me up.  Sometimes we need to be hit over the head with a brick, lead pipe or a bolder (or all three)!  I've since changed my way of eating.  I'm counting my carbs, working out, in the pool, regularly.  I don't sit on the couch watching anymore.  When the show is on I make sure I get up during commercials and dance, step or do whatever it take to move.  Then I sit and enjoy the truly inspiring program.  Since I'm traveling I haven't watched last night but it is on Tivo when I get home!  Great job!

Last nights episode was crazy! What were those two girls thinking 94lbs are you kidding, on week two. The only thing that was going through my mind was they must not watch the show much because the numbers on week 2 are not great. i like what dolvet did with putting the 94lbs on the wall, it will remind them of what they did puting 94lbs on the table, wow!!

i dont excercise during the show because i get so into it that if i do excercise ill miss something. i do my excercise around 2 now that school started again and i dont get home till 1:30. Its winter time in MN and we have not had any snow at all the weather last week has been up in the 60s so i took advantage and ran outside for those days love it but now the highest has been in the teens with wind chills, it freezing. Just the last couple of days while im running i noticed that my 2nd toe hurts, so i asked my dad cause he had gout in his toe last yr. i asked him and he said it either could be that or even a stress fracture and take it easy for a week and if it doesnt get better once i start running ill maybe have to go to the docs. so im on the bike instead, sucks i really love to run. But once in awhile ill be watching the show and all of a sudden get an urge to work out so i will work out during the commercials do some bicycle crunches but once the show comes back on im like in a zone my eyes are glued to the tv watching the show making sure i don't miss anything.

I was getting so frustrated by the immaturity that was displayed during the vote off.   The stupid arguement between Mike and the girl--I forget her name--- was unbelieveable!!!  I had to turn off the t.v. because I couldn't  handle the idiocy!!!!!

I don't exercise during the show - I'm a morning person - and I too really do not like the pettiness that Bob had on display. If he has a "move" that really works (holding a plank position long enough for someone to belly crawl under is pretty darn good) who says someone else cannot use it? A real cry-baby attitude on display, unfortunately. I always liked Jillian better than Bob, but I could never really put my finger on why exactly. Now I think I know.

Lisa, what pettiness did Bob display?  To me, he's just a trainer who really wants the best for his students.  I'd also like to comment on on the fact  that the show is including much older contestants than previously.  It makes me feel as if it is never too late. There is no cure for emphysema or osteoarthritis, so exercising hard is always troublesome for me; but I do it!  If I gasp, I gasp!  Sitting on the sofa will not make any medical condition any better, while exercise may prevent some from becoming worse.  That is my hope and prayer.  Best of luck to all of us who are struggling with our weight and food issues.  PS: Best of luck to Anna and Jillian.  I miss the girls.

I noticed that the contestants are older which may help older people know that they can do it too. However, all the cursing during the last chance workout and Bob being angery about Dolvett using his moves made me change the channel. I thought about the teens watching the show and beign influenced with that type of behavior, not to mention this is a prime-time show. I did switch back in time to see the vote off and as always Ali you were professional and empathic.
