The MDA Telethon!

My friend has MD and it is amazing the things that MDA can do in the lives of the people with Muscular Dystrophy!

My 5 year old daughter set up a lemonade stand yesterday to raise money for the MD association after seeing a little girl the day before with Muscular Dystrophy and had lots of questions about her condition.  Unfornately not many people donated but she's planning on  setting another up today.  My husband is also volunteering his time to answer phones at the local TV station for the telethon.

unfortunately, opps!!

Now THAT was what I was talking about in my note to you last year at the Day of Days event. You make such a difference in so many people's lives.  I hope you are as proud of yourself as I am of you.

...and Jerry Lewis..don't get me started.... sheesh he has given and given to this world.. God Bless you both!

Every year the Telethon brings back wonderful memories of being a child and calling up to donate my couple dollars, then watching the local broadcast for my name to be scrolled across the bottom of the screen!  At the time I didn't realize what it was all about - I just wanted to see my name on TV!  Still, wonderful memories - and I'm making the same ones now with MY kids.  We always watch the telethon and give what we can.  Of course, every time I see Jerry my eyes tear up - but he looks better this year!!  He's such an inspiration and I'm thankful for him and everyone who participates and contributes to this telethon.  ~xo

I think its wonderful what you are  doing for MD.
I don't have MD but I do have MS and they both are a diseases that need to have Americans attention.  People lives are affected by these disease's so much and its great that you are using your celebrity name to bring it to everyone attention.

Keep up the good work

God Bless you.

Ali It is great to see you working the MDA.  I have 3 uncles that are affected by MDA and two are wheelbound. I watched as one of my uncles through the years just got worse and worse. He had a car specially made for him so that he could use his hands for breaking and gas. He is such a wonderful man and I wish he never had to experience this. MDA to me is very heart breaking. These people and children are so wonderful and what Jerry Lewis started all those years ago is just unbelievable. I have watched the telethon every year with my father and we have donated money whenever we were able to. This year I am unemployed and wont be able to give much at all but even $5 dollars goes a long way. I hope that the telethon still does well with the way the economy is going. Thank you so much for your envolvement

Thank goodness for all the wonderful people out there that work so hard for MDA and the other magnificient organizations out there. There are so many worthy causes I wish I could give to but MDA is one I always give a little to. I've been fortunate not to have anyone with MD in my family but how can you not be moved by those beautiful children and families?

Many thanks to Ali, MDA and it's supporters!

Ali,

I saw you on the Jerry Lewis Telethon and wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of something that is so very important to many families. Like I said earlier I have family members with MD and it is heart breaking to see these wonderful people go through this. Thank you so very much for being part of raising money to help Jerry's kids. I always wished I could meet Jerry Lewis and thank him personnaly. I grew up watching my favorite Uncle get worse and more dependant on others. What he does is so wonderful and so needed. Thanks again Ali.
