When did you start watching?

I'm always interested in hearing what got people hooked on Days because of the rich history. :)

Mine is: My mom watched all while I was growing up, but never let me watch with her, or even be in the same room. (She was very strict about only letting me and my sister watch age appropriate things) I knew it was her soap, and I knew the names Shawn, Belle, Bo, and Hope for some reason or another. So finally, the first summer I was allowed to stay home alone with my younger sister was when I was 12.

So that meant she couldn't stop me from watching Days. I remember so clearly the first episode I ever watched was Sami falling through the glass door at the Dimera Mansion in 2003. That's what made me like Sami right away because I felt bad for her. This was also the beginning of the build up of Lumi, so that's why I ship them so hard.  They were the first couple I became attached to. That was also when Victor was basically keeping Nicole captive because she killed Colin Murphy (except I didn't know about that yet) so I felt so bad for Nicole and saw her and Brady's friendship blossom as Brady helped her. :) Remember that day where bricole went hang gliding, watched the airplanes and played in the park?? That did me in right there. ;)

So yeah, that feels like it was soooo long ago now. I'm 19 now and still watching

I started watching DAYS when I was 13.  I remember coming home from school and my mom was watching it.  From then on, I was hooked.  She no longer watches it and when I tell her what Bo and Hope are up to, she just says, "your still watching that show?"  I can't help it, I love it.  I am now 45 and still watching til the end.

I am 46 years old, & I remember my mom watching it when I was very young.  She'd be watching when I was supposed to be napping.  I'd catch part of it here & there.  I watched it in high school when I was on break & then when VCR's came out I didn't miss it for years.  The past few years have been hit & miss after a big move & going back to work after 20 years.

I really don't remember when I started watching Days...I can say the same as many other people can....My Mom and Grandmother watched Days and I basically grew up with it so I've watched it from my beginning I guess.  These Days..(LOL)..I record it on my DVD Recorder and watch it after my own children go to sleep, and it's very funny to see that at times, during the day, while it is recording, if my daughter happens to turn on the tv...she will watch it for a minute because she knows it's "Mommy's show"....she is only 4!!!  LOL...How things come full circle!

I got hooked on DOOL in summer of '96. I was used to y&r and b&b  because thats what my grandma and my mother watched but that summer I spent my free time time at my friend's house and she watched DOOL so naturally her house, her tv so we had to watch her soap. Since then I have tried to keep up with it. There have been times when I simply didnt watch at all due to my job, school, volunteer work but then I would read the weekly updates. I had so happy when they started posting all the episodes online at the nbc site so I wont have to worry about missing it. From day 1, Sami was always my favorite character (gurl) and Eric(Jensen Ackles) for guys but he's been off the show for a while.

I started watching Days in 1968 when Bill, Laura and Mickey were the main characters.  The romance of Doug and Julie was one of the biggest and best things that ever happened and it's so nice to see them still together, both on TV and in real life.

1968? wow! you're a true devoted fan! so awesome!

I started watching Days back in 1996. I was home sick in 6th grade, and I watched it at my Grandma's house w/ her for a few days straight and I was hooked. This was the time when Sami was pregnant with Will and stranded somewhere, I want to say it was in the mountains!  I can't believe I remember all that! I still am addicted to this day! I am watching today's episode as I type :) I <3 DVR! Yay for Sami and Rafe getting engaged....match made in heaven! Hope it turns out for Sami.... the 12th time is the charm :)

I think I started watching when I was very young, probably 4 or 5 yrs old. Im 32 now.  My 10 yr old daughter isnt really that into it. She watches once in a while. My 3 yr old son loves the show. He knows all the characters & can tell you what happened on each show. Im not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but watching it at that age for me didnt ruin me, so I guess it cant hurt him.

I have been watching for what seems like forever.  It seems like I was about 8 or so.  I would spend the day at my Grandma's during the summer.  My uncle would come over for lunch & eat in the family room with Days on the TV.  I thought I was watching with him, but  come to find out he was napping while I was watching.  I still watch it (thanks to DVR) at 36 - and my 14 year old daughter watches it with me as well.  Lots of stuff I have seen with Sami - seems as if it must have been when she first came on the show - John came back thinking he was Roman..been some good story lines!

I have watched Days since, pretty much, birth...almost 42 years!  My Grandma watched, both my parents watched (yes, Dad was hooked and recoreded it on his VCR), and I have grown up with the show.   LOVE IT!!!

I remember when "Sami & Eric" were born...and many years prior.  The writers have always done a fine job of tackling tough issues; alcoholism, SIDS, possession (ok, that was crazy, but fun to watch), autisim...when it matter, they write with passion and compassion.

The actors have always been the best in the biz.  While some went on to do other things, many have comeback (ok, sometimes as different characters... the gentleman who played Chris Kosachek (sp?) is now Roman Brady).

Bottomline, I never miss it if I can help it.  It is always a ride worth taking.

I have been watching since around 1978. My mom used to watch every day. I used to watch about 7 soaps. Now the only one I have been hooked on was Days. I even have a daughter named Hope. I named my Cabbage patch dolls Roman and Bo. I hope this is one show that NEVER ends. All my daughters watch it too.

I started watching DOOL when I had the Chicken Pox in the second grade. I suppose it was in the late 80s. Carley in the process of being buried alive. My two best friends and I had the pox at the same time and would lay in one bed watching it every afternoon. Because we were all sick, our parents would alternate who cared for us on a given day. In fact, we used to fight over who would get to name her daughter Katerina. It didn't matter, however, my husband isn't too keen on the name. (ha ha!) It took forever to convince our mothers that there wasn't anything "bad" in the show. The love scenes are SO much more risque' now!

I've been watching since I was 5 I guess! The earliest memory of Days that I have is Bo and Hope getting married for the first time.  My mom and her mom watched it so I was always watching with them.  Days feels like family. :)

I remember when I first started watching Days Of Our Lives. It was the year 1992, when Carly Manning was buried alive by the vicious Vivian Alamain (now Kiriakis). I was 14 years old, and my mother had been watching for many years prior to me watching it, and she was the one who got me hooked on the show. Anytime something big happens whether someone returns or leaves, my mon will say.... they're still on the show?!?! Yes, mom. Isn's that pretty neat??  smiley-smile.gif Now, 18 years later at the age of 32, I still watch it, and never get bored of it. I did miss a year or two in between, but ever since I got a hold of a VCR, and now a DVR, I never miss an episode! Please Days... don't ever leave NBC, okay?  It's the ONLY show that Im really committed to.

My two favorite characters on the show are Samantha Brady, and Hope Brady. They are beautiful and strong women, and have so much love to offer!
