Have You Read The Hunger Games?
Posted by Ali Sweeney on Feb 28, 2012

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe it took me this long to read The Hunger Games. But once I got started, I couldn't stop. Seriously. I read all three books in the trilogy in about three days. (I didn't sleep much.) Now that I'm done, I swear I'm having withdrawal.

Have YOU read The Hunger Games? Are you obsessed? What else could I read that's this addictive?

XO

Ali

P.S. Remember to tune into “The Biggest Loser” tonight on NBC at 8/7c! For those of you who have been wanting inspiration, tonight’s episode is one not to miss…it’s everything we love about this show.

I picked up the first book because my son was required to read it in his 7th grade English class. He seemed to really like it and I wanted to know what he was reading. Well, I quickly read all three! They were addictive! I can't wait to see the movie too. :)

I have read The Hunger Games, but not the other two...yet, I will get there! I felt that The Hunger Games was a combination of two other books I have read: The Giver BY Lois Lowry (which is also part of a trilogy of which I've only read the first one) & The Warrior Heir BY Cinda Williams Chima (The Heir Series, which I've read them all! Of these three, I loved The Heir Series the best! There are currently 3 books with more to come after her other series (The Seven Realms, also awesome) is complete! I love to read and could recommend tons of good reads, but these are the ones closest to The Hunger Games! As far as addicting, wow, the list is probably endless, lol...

I have not read these books but I am thinking I will have to now they sound good. If you want another great read try A Child Called It,  A Lost Boy,  A Man Named Dave.

It is a very sad story but once you start reading you can't stop.

I read these three in 4 days even my daughters read them and the eldest is not a reader at all she's lucky to read a book every other year and she read all 3 one right after the other.

Have you read  Janet Evanovich's  "Plum"  series?   It is so good! They are short reads that make you laugh out loud.

My friends keep telling me to read the Hunger Games books, but I have yet to get one and read it.

I just barely got around to reading them as well, but I did the same as you and once I started I couldn't stop!! I enjoyed them so much I had my 13 year old daughter read them, too and told her that if she liked them we would have a girls day going to see the Hunger Games movie.  Holy cow I opened up a can of worms. She is OBSESSED... most conversations with her are all about Peeta! She has a major crush on the boy that is playing Peeta in the movies.  It's annoyingly loveable.

I agree with the post about the "Plum" books by Janet Evonavich. Easy reads and I laughed out loud A LOT!!

I read Hunger Games thanks to Molly Burnett tweeting about it last year. I fell in love with the book and couldn't put it down! I didn't know until recently that there were two other books in the series. I've been trying to get them at the library but they are waiting lists!!  I can't wait to read the others, and I can't wait for the movie to come out on 3/24! I'm addicted :)

I couldn't read Hunger Games fast enough.  Thorougly enjoyed all three books and can't wait for the movie to come out.

As to other series, I have one more book to go in the Wicked series.  They have all been really good.  Also, the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is amazing.

Haven't read the Hunger Games. My daughter has! I am a die hard Twi-mom!! Read all 4 books in about 1 week and really enjoyed the movies! I generally enjoy books over the movies they generate!! More detail!!
