Congratulations, Ali, on your 20 mile run! Congrats also to Janelle for losing 228 lbs. That is an awesome accomplishment! You should be SO proud!

Hi everyone,
My big brother and I ran the Pasadena Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon on Sunday. And we finished in 2 hours! It was so cool to run side by side with him for the whole 13.1 miles, and to have our parents cheering us on from the sidelines. We had a great day...in fact, we were feeling so amazing at the finish that we ran more after the race was over and turned it into a 20-mile training run to help us get ready for the Los Angeles Marathon next month.
Have you picked a race to train for yet?
XO
Ali

Congratulations, Ali!!!!! Sounds like you had an amazing run and a great bonding experience with your brother!
I have your site as an RSS feed on my homepage. Ali, I am in awe of your time management skills. I shake my head in amazement every day and wonder how you fit it all in? Two jobs, two kids, hubby, book writing, web pages, etc. etc. etc. Just training for a marathon is an all comsuming endeavor pertaining to taking time out of your day. You are absolutely amazing on Days!!! I have watched Days for years. I don't watch t.v. but I have to see Days every day!!!
Just wanted to write to you and tell you your are amazing and such a motivator for me personally.
: )
Congrats, Ali!!! I do not really run any races, but instead every year I walk the Los Angeles Aids Walk, which is a 10K. One of these days I am going to go into that race in shape and not be wiped out by the end of it.
Great, Ali! My daughter Joy, who lives in Pasadena, is also running the LA Marathon. She's done 2 half and 2 full. This will be her 3rd full marathon. I congratulate you, Ali--it takes a HUGE commitment. She ran 20 last Sunday. Training, training!
Ali!
Great Job! That is so rad that you continued after the race! I am currently training for my first 1/2 marathon (The Flying Pig in Cincinnati, Ohio) and am so excited and nervous!! It is one of the more difficult marathons in the country because of the hills. Yesterday I did 7 miles and couldn't believe how great I felt! Wish me luck!
Stephanie
@Stephanie Jones--The Flying Pig in Cincinnati! That's great Stephanie--this was my daughter Joy's first full marathon. I visited a week before the race, and we drove the course mile by mile, using the course map printed out from the Flying Pig web site. When we started that climb up the hill (just coming ut of downtown) my heart sank. I said," Joy, how will you EVER get up this hill--especially since it's so near the start of the race! Won't you be wiped out for the rest of it??" But she did absolutely fine---! She loved the fact that the people all came out and stood alongside the race course and cheered the runners on--esp the people from the Presbyterian Church who make it a point to be supportive eveyr year. It's a great course. You'll love it. And next year, who know? Maybe the full "Pig"?
Great job Ali!
Excellent, Ali!! So neat to do things with family members and to have your family's support!! Thanks for sharing!
