Shape-Up Week!
Posted by Ali Sweeney on Mar 14, 2011

The Mommy Diet

Hi everyone!

So, this week is a #ShapeUpWeek for me! I started tweeting about it last night. I would love for you all to join me.  Strength in numbers, right? Let's support each other in this.  I explain all the specifics and details of a shape-up week in my book, The Mommy Diet.  But the bottom line is that this week I am going to focus on my health and fitness. It’s not just like any other week, when I work at health and fitness but win some and lose some.

Oatmeal

I kicked off my #ShapeUpWeek with a healthy bowl of oatmeal!

This week I am 100% goal-oriented. No sweets, no treats, no excuses. This isn’t easy with my busy schedule—and frankly, I enjoy good food and the occasional glass of wine too much to do this every single day. (And my husband would go crazy!) But once in a while, I find it really helpful and positive to commit to a shape-up week. Who's in???

If you plan to do a shape-up week along with me, let me know right here in the comment section! And keep me posted about how it’s going!

I'm in! I first did a shape-up week with Ali after New Years 2010, and did it again this year. I seriously committed to working harder and finally took off 16 pounds so far this year. The last couple weeks have been sluggish due to family stuff and getting sick. I need to get back on track! For any of you who haven't done a shape-up week, and are nervous, keep in mind, its only a week and you don't get punished if you slip up. Its about your own body, your own piece of mind and just doing the best you can do. The best part of this, that I've found, is that it really opened up my thinking on how and when to eat fruits and veggies, and I've found alot of new things that I actually like!

I am in! I am going to read the section on Shap-up week in your book tonight. I have been working out and eating healthy since last June and I am down 20 pounds. I have put 5 pounds back on since January so this will help me get back on the right track. Thanks for the support.

I'm all in, Ali! I have been needing to shap-up and really focus on eating better for awhile. I started today by "Shredding" with Jillian :)

I enjoyed my monthly dinner with the ladies, was good and didn't eat the lasagna, had salad instead.  I'm jumping in full steam ahead tomorrow morning as I got my gym membership today.   To make things even better, my church is doing a 4-week GO! Challenge, tracking eating well, exercise, and nurture.  Timing couldn't be better.

I am so in. I really need a committed week to just DO IT! Thanks for this Ali! I am so excited. Getting to "do it with you" so to speak is great and so encouraging. Thank you for sharing.

I'm totally in.  Here's my biggest stumbling block:  I used to be an avid workout enthusiast - even was a gym instructor.  Then I got pregnant and gained 70 pounds!  I went from 100 lbs to 170! My son is now 4, but I still weigh 165.  My problem is every time I go to workout I just get discouraged because I am back to square one.  It's like I have never before worked out in my life.  How do I overcome this??? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! (We need a biggest loser for folks like me:))  Thanks!

I am in also! :) I actually started working out to Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, it is a killer!! Thanks for the inspiration Ali.

Hi I just read this--busy week and haven't had time to check emails or smell the roses....I am also in, although a few days behind  :(  I will start tomorrow--March 17th!
